After spending an evening at Indigo Yard last night for dinner I though I would add a comment on my experience.

As stated above the starter was definitely the highlight. We started with the baked aubergine and mozzarella which was very tasty albeit not on a par with an good Italian restaurant equivalent. We then moved on to the main which for me was the very tasty red snapper and chunky chips and for my partner steak burger with bacon and cheese. Both reasonable portions and very well presented. The desert as above was a big disappointment. For £4.75 the gingerbread and syrup pudding was tiny and definitely not up to the standards of the rest of the meal.

On the whole a lovely meal as Edinburgh’s style bars go but for burgers I would definitely head to the Cambridge Bar and for deserts nearly anywhere else.

One plus, Montpeliers restaurants have a promotion on 2 for 1 (main course only) till the end of August for the festival so the meal becomes very good value.
